Billy McCool Of Big Horn HS To Play Football At Valparaiso University: A Big Horn High School Ram will soon be a Beacon on the football field.
Billy McCool has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Valparaiso University, located in Northwest Indiana.
This past season, the senior offensive lineman helped BH win its 2nd state title in 3 years and went undefeated in the process.
He says he had a bad taste in his mouth when the Rams came up short in the state championship game in his junior year.
Among the other schools that McCool says had been considering include the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Georgia State and a number of Junior Colleges.
He adds he plans to major in political science.
The Valparaiso Beacon football team competes in the Pioneer League, as part of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision and went 4-7 this past season.
Sheridan County HS Basketball: Big Horn and Tongue River split their second meeting of the season last night in the Rams’ gym.
BH won the boys game 45-39, while TR won on the girls side 51-29.
The Rams and Lady Rams play today at 1A Southeast starting at 1pm.
The Eagles and Lady Eagles play today at Rocky Mountain beginning at 5:30pm, and are back at home tomorrow to take on Sundance starting at 2:30pm.
As for Sheridan, the Broncs and Lady Broncs are in the capital city this weekend for 4A East Conference play.
The teams play today at Cheyenne East starting at 6pm and play at Cheyenne Central tomorrow at 1pm.

Arvada-Clearmont is at home today vs. Casper Christian beginning at 5pm and are at Midwest tomorrow starting at 2:30pm.
Sheridan County HS Wrestling: The Sheridan teams are at home today for a pair of dual meets.
The Broncs and Lady Broncs will take on Cheyenne East beginning at 3pm and Cheyenne Central at 5pm.
Tomorrow’s duals vs. Cheyenne South and Laramie have been canceled.
The Tongue River teams are scheduled to compete in a triangle meet today at Lovell, and then they will be at the Greybull Invitational tomorrow.
Sheridan HS Boys Swimming: Today and tomorrow is the 4A East Conference Meet at Laramie.
The state meet is in 2 weeks at Gillette.
Sheridan HS Nordic Skiing: Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to race today and tomorrow at Casper.
The state meet is in 3 weeks at Laramie.
Sheridan County HS Indoor Track and Field: Sheridan, Big Horn and Tongue River are scheduled to compete today at Gillette.
Competition is supposed to start at 9am.
Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks are back in action after having last weekend off.
The team will host Great Falls today and tomorrow starting at 7:30pm.
Both the Hawks and the Americans are jockeying for playoff seeding with about 1 month to go in the regular season.
Sheridan Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks boys team will conclude their regular season this weekend at Gillette.
The puck drops today at 7:15pm and tomorrow at 12-noon.
If the Hawks win both games, they would secure the #3 seed for the state tournament, which begins in 3 weeks at Cody.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys are at home tomorrow vs. UNLV.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
Because of the Sheridan High School basketball games, the UW game will be moved from its regular broadcast spot, and will air on Fox Sports 106.3 FM instead.
The Wyoming Cowgirls are back in action today as well, after having one week off.
UW plays at San Diego State beginning at 2pm.
Former University of Wyoming QB Named NFL MVP: Former University of Wyoming and current Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, has been named the NFL MVP for the first time in his career.
Not only is he the first player from UW to win the award, he’s also the first player from the Mountain West Conference to win.
This past season Allen led the Bills to the AFC Championship Game and finished the regular season near the top of several statistical categories.
He had 41 offensive touchdowns which was 4th best in the NFL and was only picked off 6 times which was the 3rd least.
Allen was AFC offensive player of the week 4 times this season, and was the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown in 1 season.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at home vs. Orlando 112-90.
The Nuggets next play tomorrow at Phoenix.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Calgary 4-2.
The Avs next play today at Edmonton, beginning at 7pm.
It’s the teams’ final game before the All-Star break.
