Sheridan HS Football: In the first round of the playoffs this past Friday, quarterback Ty Gilbertson threw for 1 touchdown and ran for another, while Kelten Crow ran for 2 TD’s of his own, as Sheridan won at home vs. Laramie 48-6.
Bronc Head Coach Jeff Mowry credits the defense which helped set up a couple of touchdowns and got in the Laramie QB’s face for much of the game.

Up next is the semi-finals as Sheridan will host Natrona County for a Saturday afternoon game.
Kickoff is scheduled for one o’clock.
The other 4A semi-final match will take place Friday night between Cheyenne East at Campbell County.
Big Horn HS Football: Big Horn was pinned deep in their own territory a couple of times in the early going of their game back on Friday, and trailed at home vs. Worland 3-nothing after 1 quarter, but then the Rams got things going and they would prevail 34-13.
Quarterback Avon Barney ran for 2 touchdowns and threw 1.
Sophomore Cruz Hernandez scored twice himself, one of them off of a blocked punt.

Up next for BH is a familiar opponent in the form of Lovell.
Ram Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says he figured the road to the 2A state championship was going to go through 3 teams from the West.
Kickoff at Big Horn is scheduled for 4pm on Friday.
The other 2A semi-final will be Cokeville at Mountain View.
That game will also be played on Friday, starting at 1pm.
Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Brackets for the 2024 Wyoming High School Volleyball State Tournaments are set.
For the first time since 2016, the Sheridan Lady Broncs are in the field.
At the 4A East Regional Tournament this past weekend at Cheyenne South, the girls won vs. Campbell County but lost vs. Thunder Basin on Friday.
On Saturday, Sheridan defeated Cheyenne Central to qualify for the state tournament, and then beat Cheyenne East to claim the #3 seed.
The State Tournament starts this coming Thursday at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper.
The Lady Broncs will take on Green River, who are the #2 seed out of the west, starting at 4:30pm.
Big Horn and Tongue River are also going to the state tournament.
At the 2A East Regional Tournament held at Pine Bluffs on Friday, the Lady Rams beat Sundance to qualify, while the Lady Eagles defeated the host team.
On Saturday, BH won a 5-set thriller vs. TR to claim the regional crown and the #1 seed out of the East.
At the 2A State tournament in Casper this coming Thursday, Tongue River will play Shoshoni starting at 2:30pm, while Big Horn will play Big Piney starting at 6pm.
The Lady Rams are the defending 2A State Champs and will try to make it 3 out of the last 4.
The season ended for Arvada-Clearmont at the 1A East Regional Tournament at Guernsey-Sunrise.
On Friday, the Lady Panthers lost in the first round vs. Southeast, and then their season came to end at the hands of Kaycee.
Sheridan HS Girls Swimming And Diving: Sheridan had last week off from competition.
The state meet is this coming Friday and Saturday at Cheyenne East.
Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks had the weekend off.
The team will be back in action this coming Friday and Saturday at Bozeman.
The next home games will be next week Friday and Saturday vs. Cody.
University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys found their quarterback, and their offense, and got a lot out of both of them, as the team won a 49-45 shootout at New Mexico.
Kaden Anderson was 20 of 29 passing for 342 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.
He also ran one TD in himself.
Catching the touchdown tosses were John Michael Gyllenborg, and Jason Sargent who had 186 yards receiving.
The 3rd TD catch was made by Justin Stevenson.
Rushing touchdowns were also scored by Jamari Ferrell and Harrison Waylee who had 170 yards on the ground.
All in all the brown and gold produced 604 yards of total offense, was 9 of 15 on 3rd down conversions and 2 of 3 on 4th down conversions.
The defense showed up in the 4th quarter and kept the Lobos off the scoreboard and produced some points.
UW was trailing 45-35 going into the final 15 minutes, but then Wrook Brown got a 29 yard pick 6.
Anderson and Stevenson hooked up for a 27 yard score later to put Wyoming ahead 49-45, the D came through with a sack, forced fumble and recovery, and the Cowboys were able to run out the final 2:48 to preserve the win.
The Pokes are now 2-7 on the season.
This week is an off week from competition.
The next game is one week from this coming Friday…the Border War…at Colorado State.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowgirls won their lone exhibition game of the season back on Friday at home vs. Chadron State 78-39.
The regular season starts today and it’s a women’s and men’s home double-header.
Up first, the Cowgirls will host Colorado, starting at 5:30pm.
You can hear that game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
After that at around 7:30pm, the Cowboys will host Concordia University St. Paul.
That game can be heard LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos lost yesterday at Baltimore 41-10.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 19 of 33 passing for 223 yards, threw 1 interception and was sacked 4 times.
He ended up catching Denver’s lone touchdown of the game from Courtland Sutton.
Will Lutz added one field goal and that was it.
The Broncos ended up turning the ball over on downs 4 times, with 2 of them in the red zone.
Denver’s next game is this coming Sunday at Kansas City, starting at 11am.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets split games during the weekend, losing on Friday at Minnesota 119-116, and won on Saturday at home vs. Utah 129-103.
The Nuggets next game is today at home vs. Toronto starting at 8pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost on Saturday at Nashville 5-2.
The Avs have lost 3 straight and next play tomorrow at home vs. Seattle.
