Dane Steel Of Sheridan HS Wins 2024 Boys Milward Simpson Award

A recent Sheridan HS grad and 3-sport athlete has been named the top overall male athlete from the graduating class of 2024.

Dane Steel was named the boys winner of the 2024 Milward Simpson Award, becoming the 5th Bronc to do so.

In football he helped Sheridan win the last 3 State Championships.

As a senior he scored 26 touchdowns (offense, defense and special teams) and he was named the 4A offensive and defensive player of the year.

Steel is a 3-time Wyoming High School State Champion wrestler, a 3-time All-American, and is the 2024 National Runner-Up.

He helped Sheridan win the 4A state title as a junior and helped the team to a 4A State Runner-Up finish as senior, losing only 1 match, which happened at nationals.

Soccer-wise, Steel helped the Broncs to a state runner-up finish as a sophomore and back-to-back 3rd place finishes as a junior and senior.

He will attend Montana State to play football.
