Sheridan Girls Basketball/Winter Sports Season Starts Competition Next Week: We are less than 1 week away from the start of the winter sports season.

The Sheridan girls basketball team has made it to the state tournament in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

Coach Ryan Sullivan says so far it looks like the Lady Broncs have the numbers, and the team could be pretty well balanced.

Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs start the season next week Thursday at Riverton, and both will play 4 games in the first 3 days.

The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams will start the season at Burns, while Arvada-Clearmont will play at Upton.

Meanwhile, the Sheridan wrestling team will host worland in a dual meet, next week Thursday, while the JV team will take on the Tongue River varsity squad.

The Sheridan Boys swim team will start their season 1 week from today at Gillette, and the nordic ski teams will start at Laramie.


University Of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys play tonight at the University of Portland.

Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 7pm, and you can hear it LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls play Sunday at Oklahoma State.

Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 12-noon.


Mountain West Conference Football: Tomorrow is the Mountain West Conference championship game between Boise State and UNLV.

Bowl game announcements should be coming out on Sunday.

The Wyoming Cowboys finished the 2023 regular season with a record of 8-and-4 and waiting for a bowl bid.

One bowl game that they will not be going to, is the Hawaii Bowl, because San Jose State has already announced that they will be playing in that game.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos play Sunday at Houston.

Kickoff is scheduled for 11am.

Denver and Houston are currently both tied with Indianapolis for the final wild card spot in the AFC with 6 games to go.

The Texans have the 2nd best passing attack in the NFL this season averaging 276 yards per game through the air, but the rushing game is averaging a little less than 100 yards per game.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost in overtime last night at Arizona 4-3.

The Coyotes scored with about 21 seconds to go in the overtime.

The Avs will play 2 on the California coast this weekend.

They will play Saturday at Anaheim and then on Sunday at LA.


Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks are at home tonight and tomorrow vs. Rapid City.

The puck drops at 7:30pm for both games.
