Ron RichterDue to an increase in population that was reported in the 2020 Census the City of Sheridan received an additional retail liquor license. In September, 2021, the Sheridan City Council formed a committee made up of Councilors Jacob Martin, Shawn Day, and Steven Brantz to establish a process for awarding the additional license. The deadline for applicants to apply for the license was December 31. Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger says the committee is currently vetting the applicants before the Council takes the next step in the process of awarding the liquor license.
Bridger said the selection of who receives the additional liquor license will be done in the form of a lottery.
Bridger said while the item is on the agenda for Council’s upcoming meeting Monday night, it will be tabled and moved to the Council’s next regularly scheduled business meeting in February.
