Sheridan County YMCA offering Learn to Shoot camp

A riflery camp will be offered by the Sheridan County YMCA this year.
The Learn to Shoot camp will begin on June 27, and last until July 2, and will teach kids calm deliberation and concentration, according to the Y. Due to the nature of riflery, attention to detail and safety will also be cultivated in each camper.
The YMCA has devised techniques to make the activity more enjoyable through the end of camp competitions or getting to take home their first bullseye.
Before firing a rifle, campers are given courses on firearm safety, how not to handle a gun and the basics of marksmanship. The Learn to Shoot camp will be instructed by Parker Wenos. Because safety is the primary concern, riflery camps are offered to older campers ages 12-15.
Hunter Safety class will be taught by certified Game and Fish instructors. Shooting camp is designed to ensure safety and strict rules are enforced. Cost for the five day camp is $300.
