Johnson County OKs TANF Grant Applications

Johnson County’s Commissioners, at their Tuesday meeting, heard presentations from three area entities applying for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF Grant funding through the Wyoming Department of Family Services’ Community Partnership Initiative program.

Compass Center for Families will be applying for $25,000 for salaries and supplies to support programs in Johnson County.

The Buffalo Children’s Center is requesting $16,000 to fund their early morning hours program to cover salaries, utilities, and snacks for the children.

The Boys and Girls Club is applying for $20,000 for support of programs in Buffalo.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny explained the process for the applications moving forward.

The commission voted to approve the TANF Grant applications.
