JCHC CEO Talks About His Next Opportunity

Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister has been in that position for two years, but he recently gave his resignation and will be leaving in a couple of months to return home to accept another position.

The resignation was prompted by a desire to be closer to family.

In an interview this week, he discussed where he will be going and what he will be doing.

McCallister said he had never worked in an independent, community-owned hospital before coming to the JCHC, but had always worked for health systems, which operate quite differently.

It was intimidating in the beginning, but with the help of staff he was able to adjust quickly.

He felt empowered to take professional risks and make decisions that have meaningful impacts.

McCallister said he wanted to thank the team, the board, and the community for allowing him to be here over the last two years.
