Hospital Board Gets Intro to New X-Ray Machine

The Johnson County Healthcare Center has a new piece of equipment, purchased with funding through the federal government’s CARES Act, or the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.
Todd Wagner, Radiology Manager at the JCHC, gave a brief presentation to the hospital board at their recent meeting to show them the new portable x-ray machine.
Wagner said there is also less of a dose of radiation to the patients with the new machine.
Dr. Schueler said the new imaging machine has helped in the Emergency Room, and that he is happy with the quality of the images he has seen.
The JCHC spent just over $107,000 in CARES Act Provider Relief Fund through the US Department of Health & Human Services on the new imaging machine.
According to hhs.gov, the Provider Relief Fund supports American families, workers, and healthcare providers in the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak. HHS distributed $178 billion to hospitals and healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus response.
