Buffalo resident Adrian Keeler has announced he will be running for Johnson County Sheriff in this year’s election.

In a release, Keeler said he is willing to “take on a greater leadership role within law enforcement, after 20 years of service as a certified Wyoming peace officer, with career experience in both municipal and county law enforcement, which he said gives him a “broad understanding of community needs, investigative demands, and the responsibilities that come with serving the public.”

He currently works as the lead investigator for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, a position he has held for eight years.

He is responsible for handling felony cases ranging from white-collar crimes to death investigations, with specialized training focusing on crimes against children.

He said he remains committed to the principles that have guided his career: integrity, preparedness, respect, and a strong dedication to the safety of the people and communities he serves.

Prior to his current position with the sheriff’s department, he spent 12 years with the Buffalo Police Department as a patrolman, school resource officer, and sergeant.

He has also been a certified use-of-force and firearms instructor.

Keeler grew up in Casper, and he and his wife moved to Buffalo in 2002 as she is a Buffalo native.  Her family (Zezas) owns a ranch near Buffalo, and she  wanted to move back to be with family.

He worked and still continues to work as big game hunting guide.
