Buffalo Council Denies Pickleball Request
A request buy Cloud Peak Pickleball to allow them to paint the tennis courts in a pickleball court paint scheme has been denied by the Buffalo City Council by a lack of a motion during their recent meeting.
Mayor Shane Schrader asked the council for a motion.
The city council considered allowingCloud Peak Pickleball to make changes to the shared tennis/pickleball courts in Washington Park to make it easier for pickleballers to see their courts.
The pickleballers asked the city to allow paint schemes for pickleball to be more prominent, and offered to do the painting and maintenance themselves to help save money, only asking the city to purchase the paint for the project.
At an earlier meeting, City Works Director Kevin Silbernagel told the council he had looked into the possibility, but said there would be substantial costs for materials, as it takes a specialized type of paint for the courts.
The council had tabled the decision at that time to allow them to look into the possibility of allowing the change at the tennis courts.
