City Officials Discuss Fire Engine Purchase
Officials with the City of Sheridan will soon be considering the purchase of a new engine for Sheridan Fire-Rescue. City Fleet and Administrative Coordinator Heather Czaplinski says that staff is recommending the City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger approve the purchase of a Pierce Enforcer Rescue Engine from Front Range Fire Apparatus for the amount of $1.17 million.
Czaplinski said the new engine will replace a 2009 Spartan Engine, with over 7,600 hours and 81,000 plus miles. The old engine will be surplused through the proper channels. The City Council is expected to consider the purchase at their next regularly scheduled business meeting, Monday, January 5.

Curious if the “old” engine has shown issues with reliability and availability or if this is just money burning a hole in the pockets of the city coffers. Tax money… easy come, easy go. My property taxes are absurd.
