Sheridan/Johnson County Unemployment Rates Increase Slightly In September 2025

Wyoming’s unemployment rate in September increased a little bit, but it is below the rate from September of last year.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September 2025 was at 3.3%, which is up from 3.2% in the previous month.

The rate was at 3.5% in September of last year.

The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September was at 4.4%, which is up from 4.3% in August, and up from 4.1% one year ago.

Sheridan County’s unemployment rate in September was at 2.7%, which is up from 2.5% in the previous month and is unchanged compared to September of last year.

Johnson County’s rate from August to September increased slightly from 2.1% to 2.2%.

The rate was at 2.5% in September of 2024.

The lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming for September 2025 was in Teton County at 1.6%, while the highest rate was in Platte County at 3.7%.

Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 1,200 jobs from September of last year to September of this year.
