Johnson County has implemented Stage One Fire Restrictions on all state and private lands within the county outside of incorporated areas, effective June 27.

The fire restrictions were recommended of County Fire Warden Tom “Tiddle” Camino.

The restriction includes state and private lands in the county except those that fall under the jurisdiction of the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, or incorporated areas within the county.

The restriction allows fires and open flames only with restrictions listed in the Resolution, which we have provided a link to with this story.

The fire restrictions will be enforced below an elevation of 7,000 feet and will be in place until rescinded by action of the county commission.
