Jo Co Commission OKs Dept. of Corrections Contract

Johnson County’s Commissioners voted to accept a contract with the Wyoming Department of Corrections concerning housing inmates at the county detention center.
Sheriff Rod Odenbach gave details on the contract at the commission meeting this week.
According to an earlier Sheridan Media story, the contracts with the DOC specify that the county will house up to 10 inmates at a time and receive $70 per day per inmate from the DOC.
Odenbach told the commissioners that he will be back at the end of June with another contract that, if approved, will take effect as of July 1.
