Johnson County’s Commissioners, at their meeting this week, accepted nearly $21,000 in additional funding from an existing grant award from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security.

According to County Clerk Jackie Camino, Emergency Management Coordinator James Cataline had discovered there were funds still available in the grant award to the county that had not been spent, and made the request for acceptance of the funding to the county commission.

The funding can be spent in a broad range of ways, from office supplies to equipment and many other ways, according to Camino.

The grant agreement was reviewed and approved by the county attorney’s office.

The funds must be spent by September 30 of this year.
