In late December of 2022, 19-year-old Dekken Mayer was arrested by the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office for the charge of soliciting illicit sexual relations. Mayer, between November of 2021, and January 5, 2022, sent messages to a 13-year-old girl via Snapchat that were allegedly threatening and sexual in nature. At an arraignment hearing Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court, Mayer pleaded not guilty to the charge. District Court Judge Darci Phillips set a #6 stack two-day jury trial for May 22 and scheduled a pretrial conference for April 20 at 10:30 am. The #6 stack trial means that there are five other trials scheduled for that date.
The charge of soliciting illicit sexual relations is a felony punishable by not more than five years in prison an a fine of up to $10,000.
