Clearmont Historical Group Luminary Bags
Sandy Hirz, director of The Clearmont Historical Center, recently reported that the donations for the luminary bags have been very successful. Although the group only asked for a dollar donation for each bag, which could be inscribed with the name of a veteran, many people donated more.
The donations for the bags has, so far, generated $645.
Sandy Hirz, director of the Historic Center,
The luminary bags will be lighted each night in the window of the center.
Robert Prusak, president of the Historical Group added that $500 of the money will be donated at the upcoming Veteran’s Day program.
Other donations received at the Center in the past month include $145 in the donation box, and $135 from the sale of Clearmont History Books, Hirz said. She wanted to thank all those who donated to help keep the Center running.
President Prusak reported that he is continuing work on the handicapped ramp and deck out the back door of the Center, utilizing the funds from the AARP grant.
Upcoming events include Treat Street at Halloween; the Veteran’s Day program on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., and the Dave Nicolarsen Program about Plains Indians and natural history coming up on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.
