SCSD#1 Receives Grant for their CTE programs

At the July Board of Trustees meeting, Superintendent Jones talked about a grant that SCSD#1 applied for

Jeremy Smith, SCSD#1 business manager, said that CTE Programs include everything from “Accounting to Welding.” SCSD#1 Students can learn Ag Mechanics, Personal Finance, Woodworking and other programs designed to give students ‘real-world’ experience.

Fire on the Mountain

On October 15 SCSD#1 Superintendent Dr. Jeff Jones talked about the fires that created problems with his schools, Tongue River High School in Dayton, and the Big Horn Schools.

The Big Horn campus is far enough away from the mountain, unlike Dayton, where the fire came very close.

Finally, thanks to a change of winds, and some much-needed moisture, the fire died down and was eventually contained and put out.

Cell Phone Use in Schools

This is the third of the stories about cell phone usage in Sheridan County Schools.

At the November SCSD#1 Board meeting, Dr. Jeff Jones, Superintendent at SCSD#1, Ranchester and Big Horn Schools, talked about how his schools deal with cellphone use among the students.

He said that the expectations were spelled out in the handbook.
