State Volleyball day one – Lady Rams and Lady Eagles win / Semi Final Football Today

STATE VOLLEYBALL – The Wyoming state volleyball championships got started in Casper yesterday both big horn and tongue river advanced into the winner’s bracket with victories, the Lady Rams whipped Kemmerer 3-0 and the four seed Lady Eagles took out number one seed Rocky Mountain 3-1.

Day two has the Lady Eagles playing Burns and the Lady Rams take on Rright game times are 4:30 and 6:00

RAMS FOOTBALL – The Big Horn Rams get another shot at the team that knocked them out of the first round of the playoffs in each of the past two years.

Lyman is the 2-time defending state champs, stat-wise the Eagles have the 2nd best rushing attack, and the #1 run defense in 2A.

Rams Head coach Kirk McLaughlin says in some ways, last week Mountain View helped the Rams get ready for today’s game.

And he says Lyman doesn’t look the same as they have the past two years,

but they’re finding ways to get the job done.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon, we will have the live broadcast for you on KWYO 1410 AM and 106.9 FM, James Timberlake will have the play by play.

BRONC FOOTBALL – The Sheridan Broncs host Cheyenne Central we will have the game live for you tonight, the First Federal bank and trust pregame show will start at 5:30 with kickoff at 6:00. you can hear it on KWYO 14-10 AM and 106.9 FM and our video web stream at

Broncs Head coach Jeff Mowry says this is a great match up with both teams showing a lot of improvement from week one when the Broncs beat Central on a late field goal.

And playoff football comes down to turnovers, penalties and special teams.

COWBOY FOOTBALL – The Wyoming Cowboys are idle they will play their next game at Colorado state next Saturday.

BRONCO FOOTBALL – The Denver Broncos are on their bye week, they play a road game at the Tennessee Titans next Sunday.

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks and Gillette will play another home and home series this week, they play in Gillette tonight then at the M&M center tomorrow night at 7:30.
