Since 2013, the Wyoming Women’s Foundation has organized and held the Wyoming’s Women’s Antelope Hunt, building a strong sense of independence and camaraderie among women.

Since then the hunt has been held annually. Hosted at the Ranch at Ucross, the participants gather and if needed, are given instruction on hunter safety, proper rifle safety and use and are taught how to move and stalk their prey in the field.

According to Shannon, many women learn a strong sense of independence and a connection with the food they provide their families. Attendees are also given instruction on how to field dress and process their harvest. Women are led by guides who are familiar with the area.

To help raise funds for the foundation, the hunt features a dinner with an auction. These funds will go back into the community to help women and girls throughout the Cowboy State.

In an effort to stay connected with supporters wherever they are, the foundation will also be hosting a smaller-scale online event featuring a recap video of the hunt’s events and a LIVE streamed raffle on Saturday, Oct. 16, for the Bison Hunt Raffle Package valued at more than $5,000.

Tickets for Wyoming’s Women’s Antelope Hunt and the Auction Dinner are sold out this year. For more information on the hunt, the auction or the raffle, start by clicking here.
