Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association National Convention Rides On In Sheridan

U-S war veteran motorcyclists from across the country have converged on Sheridan to take a ride through the area and share some stories.
Motorcycles are revving on the Wyoming roads and old and new friends are coming together to help each other out.
The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is holding its national convention in Sheridan for the next several days.
Members of the Association come from all branches of the U-S armed forces, and enjoy motorcycle riding as a hobby.
Erich Kurtz is the Wyoming State Sergeant At Arms for the CVMA.
He says the convention is a way for its members to socialize with others who have similar backgrounds, and enjoy a few rides in Wyoming’s wide open spaces and mountain roads.
“It’s a place where you can go and a bunch of people you can be around where you can relax. Where you can let your guard down, where you can share stories, tell lies over a beer if you will, and just be yourself and relax”
Going by their motto of vets helping vets, the Association supports those who have defended the country and its freedoms by helping veteran care facilities provide a warm meal, clothing, shelter, guidance or a simple thank you and welcome home to those who have served.

My bride and I just happened to be staying in Sheridan enroute from our home in Texas to visit my wife’s family in Missoula, MT. Our second stay at Jackalope Trailer Park Campround. We were here last October while expansion construction was underway.
Being an Air Force Combat Crew Veteran (Vietnam) my wife and I were pleasantly surprised to see so many Veterans and meet some of these nice folks.
