The Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt is an opportunity for women to gather together and learn new skills and self-sufficiency, creating self-confidence and independence.

For eight years the Wyoming Women’s Foundation has organized and held the hunt. But the event is about even more than learning to hunt, the event emphasizes hunter safety, hunting and land ethics, and the conservation and the proper management of wild natural resources, according to Wyoming Women’s Foundation Director Rebekah Smith.

The hunt is also used to help raise funds for the Wyoming Women’s Foundation. Established in 1999, the Wyoming Women’s Foundation is one of many funds held at the Wyoming Community Foundation. WYWF makes grants and spearheads initiatives that benefit women and girls as well as Wyoming communities. The organization is dedicated to promoting women and girls in Wyoming. The WYWF leverages funds through their endowment, and grantmaking is focused on lasting change.

This year, the WYWF has decided to take the fundraising auction online. During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Smith informed listeners on how they can take part in the auction being featured virtually.
