Wyoming FFA Members Shine at National Convention

Wyoming FFA members brought home national championships and top honors from the National FFA Convention, held Oct. 21-24 in Indianapolis, Indiana, demonstrating their achievements in agricultural science, leadership and career skills.

According to a news release, Wyoming’s results included three national agriscience championships, one proficiency award champion, five top-10 team finishes and 49 American FFA Degree recipients. Members and chapters also earned recognition for individual performance, chapter programs and service to agricultural education.

“These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our members and the commitment of the advisors, families and communities who support them,” Wyoming FFA State Advisor Stacy Broda said. “We are proud to see Wyoming students apply their skills, share their ideas and represent our state on the national stage.”

State Officers Xander Depew, Dani Santee, Colton Smith and Corbin Williams served as Wyoming’s official delegates, working with state officers and delegates from across the country to revise policies and implement new programming changes to the National FFA Organization.

“For many of these teams, this has been a year or more in the making,” Broda said. “They have spent countless hours studying, practicing and learning together. These results represent that sustained commitment, and the skills and confidence they have gained will serve them well beyond competition.”

The Wyoming FFA Association now focuses on their fall leadership conference series to be held Nov. 13-14, in Casper, hosting more than 800 members from across the Cowboy State.
