Deadline Extended for Wyoming Culinary Arts and Student Chef Mini Grants

The Wyoming Department of Education Child Nutrition Program has extended the deadline for two mini-grant opportunities funded through its Team Nutrition Training Grant for Meal Pattern Modernization and Retention and Mentorship. To qualify, school districts must actively participate in the USDA National School Lunch Program. The Culinary Arts Classroom Mini-Grant offers up to nine awards of $1,750 each. Open to current culinary arts teachers working with high school students in grades 9 through 12, these grants support hands-on classroom instruction designed in collaboration with school nutrition programs.

The Student Chef Competition Event Mini-Grant provides up to five awards of $500 each. Eligible applicants include culinary arts teachers serving middle school students in grades 5–8, school nutrition directors, school administrators, and other program leaders supporting student career readiness, such as culinary club advisors. 

District leaders are encouraged to share these opportunities with culinary arts, Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), ProStart, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and school nutrition staff. Applications must be submitted online by September 30.
