The Creative Fiber Guild of Sheridan 50th Anniversary
The Creative Fiber Guild of Sheridan will celebrate its 50th anniversary with two days of displays, demonstrations and hands-on “try-it-out” projects at Sheridan College’s Thorne Rider Student Center.
Founded in 1975 by a small group of spinners, knitters and weavers, the guild supports all forms of fiber arts, including spinning, weaving, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and tatting. Members meet weekly to share projects and ideas, and monthly meetings include an educational or entertaining presentation. The guild also offers workshops that provide in-depth instruction on fiber topics. Membership tops 100 and new members are welcome.
The public is invited to join the celebration 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26–27.
