Aaron PalmerBuffalo’s City Council, during their meeting Tuesday evening, voted to award the contract for the reconstruction of Sunset Avenue.
City Works Director Kevin Silbernagel said the city received two proposals from two separate contractors with bids on resurfacing in both concrete and asphalt.
Barnum Construction was the lowest bidder to resurface in concrete, which was what the council chose to award.
Barnum Construction won the contract with a bid of $2.184 million.
Funding for the project came from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding from the federal government.
The bid was lower than the engineer’s estimate on the project, according to discussion at the meeting.
