Aaron PalmerJohnson County’s Commissioners have set this year’s 1% allocation, based on the projection of sales tax revenues through the end of the fiscal year.
County Treasurer Carla Bishop spoke with the commissioners during their last meeting, saying although tax collections had been slow in February, they were up over the last few months, so she expected collections to meet or exceed last year’s $1.2 million for the fiscal year.
Chairman Bill Novotny asked Bishop for her recommendation on allocating funds.
After some discussion, the commission voted to allocate $275,000 for the 1% Committee to distribute.
