Buffalo Council, Jo Co Commission Set 1% Fund Allocations
Buffalo’s City Council and the Johnson County Commission have both set their allocations for the One-Percent Committee recommendations for 2024.
The county commission, during their meeting Tuesday morning, voted to set their allocation at $275,000.
The city council, during their meeting Tuesday evening, voted to ap vprove Resolution No. 1476, to allocate $250,000 for the One-Percent Committee.
The committee will now take those funds and decide from the various applications they receive which ones they will recommend back to the city and county for funding.
The application deadline is this Friday at 5 p.m.
The Optional One Cent Sales Tax is collected on behalf of the city and county, with a portion of the funds earmarked for local organizations to apply for to help pay expenses or to make needed purchases.
