Last year, First Federal Bank and Trust, located here in Sheridan, donated $1,000 a week for 52 weeks to a 501(c)(3) or qualified non-profit in Sheridan County.
This is part of the First Federal Bank and Trust Community Commitment Program. As a mutual bank, First Federal Bank and Trust has no stockholders, so the bank uses portions of the profits made to invest into the Sheridan County community.
First Federal Bank and Trust President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Bailey told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that he is proud of the work his team accomplished over the last year and has had a good time being able to help organizations that work to improve the lives of Sheridan County residents.

This year, the bank will resurrect Dining for a Cause, a program that will help not only a nonprofit, but also a local restaurant in Sheridan.
Dining for a Cause was initially started by Kim Love, former owner of Sheridan Media and Frackeltion’s Restaurant. The goal of the program was to donate a portion of the profits made by the restaurant to a featured nonprofit organization.
Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Lending Officer DJ Dearcorn said this year the team at First Federal Bank and Trust wanted to make a larger impact on some of the nonprofits working to improve the community as well as bring some much needed business to restaurants downtown after enduring both the COVID shutdowns and The Main Street Resurfacing Project.
