Lawrence Jarvis

A Private family celebration of life for Lawrence Jarvis, a 75-year-old long-time Buffalo resident who passed away suddenly at his home in Buffalo on October 26th, will be held at a later date. Donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to the Lawrence Jarvis Memorial and sent to the First Northern Bank at 141 South Main in Buffalo, Wyoming 82834. Lawrence Richard Jarvis was born on May 28, 1948, in Goodwill, West Virginia to Joseph Jarvis Sr. and Hazel Jarvis.  He moved with his family to Buffalo, Wyoming when he was in middle school and attended Buffalo High School.  He was married on October 29, 1967, in Casper Wyoming to Linda Evans and they made their home in Evanston and Buffalo where they raised their family and Lawrence worked in the oilfields.  Linda passed away in August of 2021 and Lawrence continued living in Buffalo until his death.

Lawrence enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and mechanic work.  His passion was spending time with his family, and he loved giving them a hard time. He is survived by two sons, Shane Jarvis and his wife Brenda and Richard Lee Jarvis, all of Buffalo; three brothers, Gordon Jarvis and his wife Nancy of Walla Walla, Washington, David Jarvis of Buffalo and Jerry Jarvis of Ronan, Montana; five grandchildren, Dillon Jarvis and his wife Anna of Buffalo, Jordon Jarvis and his wife Katelynn of Omaha, Nebraska, Dalton Jarvis of Buffalo, Gavin Jarvis of Gillette, and Karsyn Jarvis of Worland, Wyoming; and three great-grandchildren Brycen, Blakely and Caysey.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Bill, Don, and Joe Jr, and one sister, Janet Oaks.
