Ella Powell

On August 18, 2023, God came to take one of the most precious angels home with him. Ella May (Guerrieri) Powell, 86, of Sheridan WY passed away peacefully at Westview. Ella was surrounded by love and comfort with many family members by her side.

Ella was born December 16, 1936, to Joseph and Katherine Guerrieri. She graduated from Pittsburgh Senior High in 1954 which is where she met the love of her life William “Buddy” Powell. One shove to the bleachers was all it took. Their eyes met and sparks flew. From that point forward they were inseparable. They married on May 20, 1955. Buddy and Ella were married for 68 blissful years. In those years they welcomed 3 beautiful daughters Janell Powell, Michele (John) Sanders, and Jeannine (Keith) Hogan. Later they were blessed with 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

Throughout Ella’s wonderful life, she worked as an administrative assistant along with volunteering at her church and many charities. Ella’s true passion in life was her unconditional love for God. She also loved being a part of the church choir, crafting, and doll making, but most of all spending as much time as she could with her family.

Ella always found the good in life. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend anyone could ever ask for. She is already missed so very much by all that she touched in life both near and far.

Ella is preceded in death by both of her parents Joseph and Katherine Guerrieri.

She is survived by her husband William “Buddy” Powell, her 3 daughters, all of her grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren, her sister Beverly Matlock, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ella’s life will take place at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, August 24th, 2023, at Bethesda Worship Center with Pastor Scott Lee officiating.  Online condolences may be made to www.sheridanfuneral.com. Arrangements are under the care of Sheridan Funeral Home.
