cvannoyClearmont Town Council met on Monday, July 17. Mayor Schock discussed the repayment plan for Well#3. He said Beth Blackwell is working on it. He reported that the Town received one propane bid from Blakeman Propane and the council is waiting to see if any other bids are received.
Due to possible unforeseen costs related to Town Well #3, Mayor Schock said that purchase of the side-by-side will be put on hold at this time, but he also felt the town should purchase a snow plow for the new pickup as soon as possible.
Last month the town discussed a barking dog ordinance, but Schock felt that more research needs to be done.
Councilman Poppenga turned in his resignation to the town on July 11, 2023 due to health reason. Schock said that the open council position will be advertised.
Councilwoman Betz is setting up in-person financial training for elected officials in Arvada-Clearmont School and she encouraged members of the town council to attend.
Schock said he received many compliments that the Town looks very nice. He thanked Pete Bassett and Aubrey Holland for their hard work this summer keeping the lawns mowed the town looking good.
Clerk Vivian Ramsay stated that FY23 End of Year Review with ClerkBooks has been done and there are no major adjustments.
Maintenance man Pete Bassett discussed the aeration system and the work that will be involved. He also mentioned the snow situation in town during the winter, and removal of the snow.
Councilwoman Switzer moved to approve the aeration system project for the town lagoon, and the council approved the system.
There will be a public hearing on the proposed Clearmont Town Marshal Position on August 21, 2023 at 5:30 P.M, followed by the regular meeting, at 6 P.M. All interested residents are encouraged to attend this public hearing and the town council meeting.
