Rodney Sand

Graveside funeral services for Rodney Lee Sand 67 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Monday evening at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana will be held Wednesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery with Pastor Paul Gilbert officiating. A visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Donations in Rod’s memory may be made to the Rodney Sand Memorial a fund set up to help the family with final expenses. Rodney Lee Sand was born on March 28, 1955, in Buffalo, Wyoming to Bill and Thelma Sand. He started his schooling in Buffalo and later moved with his family to Torrington where he was in Junior High School. In 1969 the family moved to Sundance, Wyoming and he attended Sundance High School and graduated with the class of 1973. After high school, he attended Casper College for one year. After college, he and his partner moved to California where he was a heavy equipment operator for several years. Following a back operation he moved to Mississippi where he worked as a maintenance man at the University of Mississippi for Women in Columbus. He later moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked for Carol’s Trailer Land in maintenance. In 2015 he moved back to Buffalo and took a job with Holiday Inn Express. He continued living in Buffalo until his death. He is survived by one son Chris Sand and his wife Britney of Columbus, Mississippi; one brother Bill Sand of Buffalo and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
