Kathleen Rucki

Kathleen Rucki (nee Reculusa) was born in Buffalo on March 24, 1940, to Marie and Fermin Reculusa when they were herding sheep for Johnny Esponda.  She attended grade school at Long School after her parents took up sheep ranching on Powder River east of Kaycee. She graduated from Johnson County High School in Buffalo in 1958.

She married Edgar Rucki in 1959.  They remained married until her death.  She worked in Johnson County School District #1 as a paraprofessional and librarian for 30 years.  She loved her family, creating beautiful hand-stitched quilts, and growing flowers, and books.

She is survived by her husband, her children Craig Rucki (Joyce Wiley) and Sam Rucki (Michael Mitchel), her sister Felecie Dressler, and brother Joe Reculusa (Joyce) as well as two grandchildren Katie and Alex Rucki as well three nephews and one niece.

The family plans to hold a private ceremony on Nine Mile when the weather gets better. In lieu of remembrances, please consider donations to the Johnson County Library.
