Sheridan Recycling & Solid Waste Coordinator Seliena Parker made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Jackson Electric Open Lines to serve as a local expert on the matter of recycling.
During the discussion, Parker informed listeners as to the reason behind the need to rinse bottles, cans and other food containing items before placing them into the recycling bin.
Once at the Sheridan Recycling Center, it’s a team of people that sort through the items. According to Parker, every single item in the recycling bins is eventually touched by human hands.
The Sheridan Recycling Center wishes to thank all Sheridan residents who take part in the recycling program, but does ask that the public please be mindful of what is going into the bins, because a hard working individual is going to have to sort it by hand.

I missed the public pulse program so this was helpful information. We try very hard to be responsible recyclers.
