Michael Odom Of Sheridan HS To Compete In Track and Field at Minnesota State Morehead

One Sheridan Bronc track and field athlete has thrown his way to the college level.

Michael Odom has signed his notice of intent to join the team at Minnesota State Morehead for shot put and discus.

He explains what got him first involved in the sport, and what gives him that drive to continue.

“I’ve always really wanted to do track especially in middle school, but with the lockdown and everything I didn’t have the chance to do that. 8th grade year, started doing running events, wasn’t really good at it, but really found my home in the throwing events, so I’ve just been doing them ever since. I think it is a super complex event and when it all comes together, it is the most magical experience on planet Earth.”

Odom says he plans to major in business.

The Dragons compete at the NCAA Division 2 level.
