A Sheridan Bronc football player will go from winning a state championship, to a team that recently won a national championship.

Breck Reed has signed a written offer of athletic aid to play football at Montana State University.

He missed part of his senior season due to an injury, but was able to return and help the Broncs 5-peat as state champs.

Reed says he’s been playing football since his flag football days and the University of Wyoming gave him a preferred walk-on offer, but he had been in touch with MSU Offensive Coordinator Pete Sterbick, before during and after his mid-season injury, and his persistence paid off.

“Definitely breaking my foot during the football season was hard on me, especially recruitment wise, so just to be a hassle for them, I’d text Coach Sterbick and I kind of told him, I’d take anything that they had to offer me and I would check up every 2 weeks or so and I think just them seeing how much I wanted to be a part of their program and then obviously just the hard work and dedication you have to put in for them to look at your film and your character and think, ‘yeah, we want him to be a part of their program,’ but besides that, it was just me reaching out to them, every 2 weeks or so, showing them that I want to be a part of their program, I think that really helped me.”

Reed adds he is undecided on a major, but is leaning towards business management.
