Sheridan HS Tennis: The lone boys tennis state championship trophy for Sheridan High School has been in the trophy case for 40 years, and now it has company.

Thanks to 2 state championships, 1 runner-up and 1 3rd place finish, the Broncs won this year’s Wyoming High School State Tennis Championship this past weekend at Gillette.

Matt Brown and Eric Venn are state champs at boys #1 doubles, while Sam Wilcox and Christian Lamen won boys #3 doubles.

Aaron Lansing and Lawson Woodrow were state runners-up at boys #2 doubles, and Ben Bujans was 3rd at #1 singles.

For the Lady Broncs, Ella Bilyeu was 3rd at #1 singles, while Brittney Geissler and Gracie Hogan placed 4th at girls #2 doubles.

Cheyenne Central ran away with the girls crown, ahead of Kelly Walsh, Thunder Basin, Jackson and Sheridan who placed 5th.

Sheridan HS Football: Sheridan was up 31-6 at halftime on the road against Kelly Walsh back on Friday.

The opposition made somewhat of a comeback in the second half, but the Broncs were able to prevail 37-20 to win their 48th straight game and go 5-0 on this season.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the players know that the game against KW was not their best performance.

This Friday is Sheridan’s homecoming game as the team will entertain Cheyenne Central, beginning at 6pm.

The Broncs are targeting another record in this game.

Sheridan has won 30 games in a row at home, and the state record is 31, set by the old Byron High School from 1953-1961.


Big Horn/Tongue River HS Football: After a crazy first quarter, Big Horn settled down and shut out Burns at home 59-zip.

The Rams play again this coming Friday at Moorcroft.

Tongue River scored late in their game vs. Newcastle to avoid the shutout, but the Eagles still had more to do and not enough time to do it, as they lost at home 43-7.

TR plays their homecoming game this coming Friday vs. Upton-Sundance.


Johnson County HS Football: Buffalo won their 3A East Conference opener at home vs. Rawlins 61-nothing.

The Bison next play this coming Friday at Riverton.

Kaycee lost at home vs. Riverside 58-6.

The Buckaroos host Guernsey-Sunrise in an exhibition game this coming Friday.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Volleyball: Sheridan went 4-1, while Big Horn went 3-2 at the Casper Invitational this past weekend.

The Lady Broncs have a quick turnaround as they are scheduled to play tomorrow at Thunder Basin and on Thursday at home vs. Campbell County.

The Lady Rams are next scheduled to play Friday at home vs. Wright and on Saturday at Sundance.

Tongue River won both of their games on Friday and Saturday, defeating Moorcroft and Wright respectively.

The Lady Eagles are next scheduled to play Friday at home vs. Sundance and on Saturday at home vs. Greybull.

Arvada-Clearmont only has 1 game scheduled this week.

That is Saturday at home vs. Upton.

Buffalo split weekend home games, losing Friday vs. Powell and won on Saturday vs. Glenrock.

Kaycee lost 4 games back on Saturday at Lusk.

The Lady Buckaroos are next scheduled to play on Saturday at Rock River.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Cross Country: The Sheridan boys placed 1st at the Rapid City Invitational this past weekend, thanks to runners finishing 1st, 3rd and 4th.

The Broncs next run on Thursday at Sturgis, SD.

Big Horn and Buffalo will race on Friday at Cody, while TR runs on Saturday at Wright.


Sheridan/Buffalo HS Girls Swimming And Diving: Sheridan was 4th and Buffalo was 3rd at the 6-team Sheridan Invitational this past Saturday.

Kortney Fackrell finished 1st in the 100 meter backstroke for the Lady Broncs.

Sheridan will have their home finale this coming Friday vs. Campbell County and Thunder Basin, and also swim at Kelly Walsh on Saturday.

Buffalo is scheduled to compete on Saturday at Douglas.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both games this past weekend to open up the home portion of their schedule.

The team won on Friday vs. Rapid City 3-1, and beat Cody on Saturday 7-1.

Sheridan is currently tied for 2nd place in the NA3HL’s Frontier Division and next play 2 on the road this coming Friday and Saturday against Butte.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos play in the Monday night game today at home vs. Cincinnati.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15pm and you can hear the game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.


Colorado Rockies Baseball/MLB Playoffs: The regular season has ended and the Colorado Rockies finished it by losing their last 6 games, including 3 at San Francisco.

Friday’s score was 6-3.

Ezequiel Tovar provided the 3 with a 3-run home run.

Saturday’s score was 4-3.

Hunter Goodman, Brenton Doyle and Jordan Beck each hit solo shots, but it was not enough.

The Rocks closed the season yesterday losing 4-zip, to finish with a record of 43-119.

It’s tied for the second worst 162-game record in Major League Baseball history and is the worst in National League history.

The MLB wild card round starts tomorrow as teams play in a best 2 out of 3 series.

In the National League, Cincinnati will visit the LA Dodgers.

The winner of that series will travel to Philadelphia.

Also, San Diego will travel to take on the Chicago Cubs.

Milwaukee is waiting for the winner.

In the American League, Boston and the New York Yankees will play a best 2 out of 3 series in the Bronx, with Toronto waiting in the wings.

Detroit heads back to Cleveland and a trip to Seattle awaits the winner.


Colorado Avalanche Pre-Season Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won an exhibition game this past Saturday at home vs. Dallas 4-1.

The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. Las Vegas.

The regular season starts one week from tomorrow.
