Sheridan County HS Basketball: The Sheridan County High School basketball teams went a combined 13-11, with the 2 of them going undefeated.
Those 2 were the Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs as each of them defeated Green River, Kelly Walsh and Natrona County.
This coming Thursday is the home opener vs. Kelly Walsh, and then on Friday, Sheridan will play at Natrona County again.
The Tongue River girls went 2-1 on opening weekend, as they defeated 3A Burns, lost vs. 1A Southeast and beat 1A Lingle-Ft. Laramie.
Meanwhile the TR boys went 1-2, with the lone win coming against Burns.
This Friday and Saturday, Tongue River will play in the Foothills Classic, which will take place at Pavillion and at Ethete.
The Big Horn boys went 2-1 in their games played as they beat 4A Cheyenne South and 3A Wheatland, but lost vs. 1A Lingle-Ft. Laramie.
The Lady Rams played the same 3 teams and only beat Cheyenne South.
This Thursday, BH will play Buffalo.
The boys game is at home and the girls play on the road.
On Friday and Saturday, Big Horn will join Tongue River in the Foothills Classic.
Also this past weekend, the Arvada-Clearmont boys lost against Lusk, Meeteetse and Riverside, while the A-C girls lost vs. Lusk, won vs. Hulett, then lost vs. Riverside.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers will play their home opener this coming Thursday vs. the Thunder Basin freshman teams.

Sheridan County HS Wrestling: The Sheridan and Tongue River boys were at the Powell Invitational this past weekend, while the TR girls were not that far away in Cody.
The Sheridan girls were at Rapid City, South Dakota and finished tied for 11th out of 50 teams.
Senior Becca Oetken won the 235 pound weight class.
This Saturday, the Lady Broncs will host a dual tournament, while the Broncs will be at a similar tournament on Friday and Saturday at Gillette.
As for the Eagles and Lady Eagles, they are scheduled to compete on Saturday at Wright.

Sheridan HS Boys Swimming and Diving: Sheridan started their season by placing 5th out of 11 teams, at this past Friday’s relay races at Laramie.
On Saturday, junior Ben Forsythe ended up finishing 1st in the pentathlon.
The Broncs will next compete this coming Thursday at Buffalo.

Sheridan HS Nordic Skiing: Sheridan started the season at Jackson.
The next meet isn’t until January 3rd and 4th at Pinedale.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks lost yesterday in the first game of the NA3HL Showcase Event against the Texas Brahmas 4-3.
The team was down 3-0 in the 2nd period, then rallied and eventually tied the game at 3 with a little less than 7 minutes to go, but Texas would score the eventual winner about 30 seconds after the game was tied.
The Hawks play today at 11:15am against West Bend, Wisconsin.
Sheridan Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks boys team won 2, lost 1 and tied 1 on the road this past weekend.
The team won both games vs. the Laramie-Douglas combination team, by scores of 4-1, and 10-1.
Rock Springs proved to be a more difficult challenge as the Hawks dropped the first game 8-0, and then had to settle for a 3-3 tie in the second game.
Sheridan will play their home finale this coming Friday and Saturday vs. Riverton.
As for the defending state champion Lady Hawks, they would improve their record to 8-0 with 4 home wins this past weekend.
Scores vs. Laramie were 7-1 and 6-1, and scores vs. Casper were 9-2 and 8-zip.
Sheridan will play 2 on the road this coming Friday and Saturday at Miles City, Montana.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys dropped their 4th game in a row, losing on Saturday at BYU 68-49.
Obi Agbim led the way for the Pokes with 21 points, but no one else for the team scored in double digits.
BYU shot 52% from the field for the game and got 37 points from their bench.
UW is now 5-5 on the season and next play this coming Thursday at home vs. Bellarmine University.
Meanwhile, the Wyoming Cowgirls won yesterday at South Dakota 79-45.
The ladies shot 55% from the field and hit 14 3’s.
Allyson Fertig scored 17 points.
Emily Mellema, Tess Barnes and Ola Ustowska contributed with a dozen points each and Kati Ollilainen put in 10.
With the win, UW evens up their record at 5-5 and next play tomorrow at Creighton.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos spotted Indianapolis at 10 point lead at home in the middle of the 2nd quarter, then recovered and took advantage of 2 colossal Colt blunders to win 31-13.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 20 of 33 passing for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns, but he was intercepted 3 times.
Catching those TD passes were Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins and Courtland Sutton.
In the 3rd quarter, Indy was up 13-7 and it appeared that Jonathan Taylor scored on a 41 yard run, however, the replay showed that he fumbled the ball at 1, ala Desean Jackson, and the ball would go out of bounds in the end zone for a touchback.
Then in the 4th quarter, the Colts reached into the bag of tricks, attempting a double lateral flea flicker, but Nik Bonitto had other ideas, as he would intercept the 2nd lateral and return the ball 50 yards to the house.
All-in-all the defense came up with 5 takeaways.
Denver is now 9-5 on the season and for the first time since 2016, the team will finish the regular season with a winning record.
With 3 games remaining, the Broncos are tied with Baltimore for the top wild card spot, but lose the head-to-head vs. the Ravens, thus the team would currently be the #6 seed.
The LA Chargers lost yesterday vs. Tampa Bay, and now they occupy the final AFC playoff spot by 2 games ahead of Indy, Miami and Cincinnati, with 3 to go.
This Thursday it’s Denver at the Chargers.
With a win, the Broncos would secure a playoff spot.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won at home on Friday vs. the LA Clippers 120-98.
The Nuggets next play today at Sacramento starting at 8pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won at home vs. Nashville on Saturday 5-2.
The Avs next play today at Vancouver starting at 8:30pm.
