Nadine Dixie Doyle was born on August 1, 1924, at the JC Cox Family Ranch in Sheridan, WY, to Godfrey and Helen Cox Doyle. She peacefully passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 99, at Ft Bayard Medical Center in Santa Clara, NM.

Nadine, alongside her younger sister Shirley, began her educational journey at Mission San Luis Rey in Long Beach, CA. Following her parents’ divorce, she returned to the Cox Ranch on Prairie Dog outside Sheridan. Both sisters attended parochial school and graduated from Sheridan High School.

In pursuit of her lifelong dream of becoming an RN, Nadine entered St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Denver, CO, in 1942, and was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corp. While in training, fate led her to meet Frank P. Langlinais who was serving in the Marine Corp, stationed in San Diego. WWII ended and they were married on December 28, 1945, in Port Arthur, TX.

Taking advantage of the GI Bill, Nadine and Frank relocated to New Mexico. Nadine served as a Socorro County Public Health Nurse in Socorro, worked as the NMSU Campus Nurse in Las Cruces, and settled in Anthony where Frank became a teacher. In Anthony, Nadine enjoyed homemaking and raising their two children. A skilled seamstress, she was active in Beta Sigma Phi, led a Brownie troop, and taught Sunday school at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. From 1964, she dedicated 22 years as a school nurse in the Gadsden ISD. In addition, during summer breaks Nadine did private duty nursing at Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces, and was a nurse at UTEP, Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital, and Sunland Park Race Track.

Retiring to Sun City, AZ, in 1986, Nadine continued her vibrant life. She cherished moments with family, was passionate about line dancing, and loved the adventures she & her sister Shirley had at the area casinos. Moving to Silver City, NM in 2009, she remained close to her daughter and son-in-law. Nadine will be fondly remembered for her keen sense of humor, quality time spent with family, her turquoise jewelry, and of course her enduring love of horse racing!

Preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother-in-law, and son-in-law Lee Miller, Nadine is survived by her daughter Diane L. Miller of Silver City NM, son Jon D. Langlinais, granddaughters Crista N. Huggard (Damien), Morgan L. Pollard (Dylan), Hillary R. Langlinais, great-grandson Eli J. Cain, niece Linda K. Baker, and nephew Bob Baker (Sheryl) as well as other cherished family members. Per Nadine’s wishes, a memorial service will be held in Sheridan, WY, where her ashes will be interred in the Cox Family plot.
