Joanne Twiss

Rena Joanne (Sweet) Twiss was born March 3, 1938, to James and Rena V. Sweet in Sheridan.

Rena (Joanne) went to Custer Grade School and Sheridan Jr. High. Her family went to Indiana for a few years where her Brother James R (Pete) was born before returning to Sheridan where the family grew with the birth of her sisters Sandra, Marylin, and Billie Lou.

Joanne married Marvin Leroy Twiss in Paris, Idaho on December 4, 1955. They were later sealed together for time and all eternity in 1998 at the Portland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Together they had six children Robin, Butch (Marvin Lee), Russell Clark, Roy James, Rena Mae, and Dennis Allen.

Joanne is survived by her brother James (Pete) Sweet of Sheridan, her children Robin Twiss-Fenwick (Colorado), Rena Twiss-Godfrey (husband Jon) of Parrish, NY Dennis Allen Twiss (wife Lisa) of Ohio as well as 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, lots of nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends..

Joanne is preceded in death by her husband Marvin (2013), her sons Marvin Lee and Roy James (1965), Russell Clark (2001), her sisters Sandra Cooley, Marylin Eskew, and Billie Lou Way as well as her parents James and Rena V. Sweet.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 10:00 am with Bishop Nick Zent officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Evergreen Section with a reception back at the church.‍
