U.S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming Bob Murray announced Thursday that 24-year-old Dustin Hiebert of Gillette has been indicted by a federal grand jury on four counts of production of child pornography. According to a release from the Department of Justice, Hiebert, at an arraignment hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kelly Rankin, pleaded not guilty to the charges. A trial date of April 11 has been set before U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal. Hiebert was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshals Service.

If convicted, Hiebert faces 15 years to life in prison and fines of over $300,000. The case is being investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation ICAC. The case is also part of the Project Safe Childhood Initiative. An indictment merely contains allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
