Governor Gordon: Crisis on the Southern Border is a Concern to Wyoming
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon joined other Governors in Mission, Texas Wednesday to call for policy changes at the U.S-Mexico border and announce ten policy solutions that the Biden Administration could enact immediately to address the crisis at the southern border. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
According to information from the Governor’s Office, the “Joint Policy Framework on the Border Crisis” from the majority of the nation’s Governors includes calls to continue to refuse entry to individuals coming into the country due to the COVID-19 public health risk (Title 42 health restrictions); fully reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) established by the prior administration, which require asylum seekers to return to Mexico to await a court hearing; and dedicate additional federal resources to eradicate human trafficking and drug trafficking.
During the trip Governor Gordon met with Texas Department of Public Safety officials and toured the Rio Grande by boat. Border officials during the trip noted that Mexican cartels have taken advantage of the current situation and dominate the drug and human trafficking markets. Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation figures show a significant increase in the amount of fentanyl that is being seized in the state since 2019. Last month, Governor Gordon joined 25 other Governors in signing a letter to the Biden Administration requesting a meeting with the President on the issue. To date, the Governors have not received an offer to meet.

And we have the Democrat Party to thank for this mess. They have been actively engaged in using border insecurity to change the demographics of this country. Sadly, the “mainstream” so-called “moderate” Republicans have been inactive and thus complicit in the mess that is now playing itself out on the southern border. Whatever the leftwing trolls on this board may claim, this disaster is a product of the politicians of the Democrat Party dating back to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy and his “immigration reform” bill of 1965. Follow the historical record and you’ll see the fingerprints of the Democrat Party all over this issue.

I’m not “suggesting” anything. Al Simpson was well meaning, as are many of the “moderate” Republicans. He got played by the Dems in the Senate into co-sponsoring the Simpson-Mazzoli (immigration) Act of 1986. That law was supposed to provide border security in exchange for legalizing a large number of illegals. As usual, the Dems got what they wanted (more of their voters becoming voting citizens) and the Republicans got the Charlie Brown end of the football kicking meme. Nothing new here.

If you think Al Simpson got played you dont know the Simpsons very well. What he was doing was governing -something the Mitch McConnel Senate has no interest in if it isn’t directed to staying in power.

Thank you again, Gov., for touring the southern border, a place where biden has NEVER been. The open border is also concern for every other state. Who knows what is coming across that border with intentions that are unknown. This catastrophic crisis was either created intentionally by the biden admin, or it is a sign of gross incompetence. I think its the former.
