School Board Elects Officers, Sets Committee Assignments

During their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School Board held elections for officers and decided on their committee assignments for the coming year.

Dave Belus, who has been the acting board chairman since the resignation of former chairman Dr. Tim Blaney, was voted in as the chairman of the board.

Jodi Verplancke was approved as the vice-chair; John Manzella as clerk; and Rich Hall as treasurer.

For committee and board assignments, Rich Hall was approved for BOCES; Marcy Schueler and Dave Belus for BOCHES; Mike Moon for the Rec Board; Margo Sabec, Jan Johnson, and Mike Manzella for the Deliberations Committee; Dave Belus for the Joint Powers Fuel Board and the Buffalo High School Development Fund Committee; Marcy Schueler for the Sheridan College in Johnson County Advisory Committee; Jodi Verplancke for the District Advisory Committee and the Sick Leave Bank Committee; and Mary McCorkle and Mike Moon for the Policy Committee.
