A Sheridan man was sentenced in Fourth Judicial District Court Tuesday for crimes committed last December. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
On December 6, 2020, 38-year-old Ryan Miller was arrested and charged with the crimes of Felony Strangulation of a Household Member and Misdemeanor Domestic Battery for an incident that occurred at a residence in Sheridan County.
At a sentencing hearing Tuesday, District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached with the State and entered a deferred prosecution into the record and three years of supervised probation for the strangulation charge and one-year in jail, suspended in favor of one-year of supervised probation for the misdemeanor charge. The probation will run concurrent to the three year probationary period for the deferred sentence. Miller was ordered to pay $475 in court costs and $3,615 in restitution. As part of his probation, Miller must participate in the 24/7 sobriety program and enroll and complete an intensive substance abuse treatment program.
