School District Two Updates COVID-19 Plan
On August 5th, Sheridan County School District Two released their COVID-19 Plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The plan was developed in collaboration with Sheridan County Health officials and aligns with guidance from the Wyoming Department of Health. The School District has released an updated plan with several changes including that masks are now strongly recommended in school buildings and on school grounds. Masks are also strongly recommended on route buses that transport students to and from school.
Changes to the plan regarding quarantine and isolation guidelines include that on a case by case basis, essential staff members who are close contacts with positive cases may be allowed to continue working while maintaining social distance and wearing a mask. Also, individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 90 days are not required to quarantine after an exposure. Documentation of a positive test will be required.
Another change to the plan pertains to testing and states that all individuals who are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, whether vaccinated or not, are strongly encouraged to be tested for COVID within 3 to 5 days of exposure.
There is a change to the plan on out-of-town field trips regarding buses, as students, coaches/sponsors, and drivers are required to wear masks on activities and out-of-town field trip buses. Masks are now strongly encouraged for all visitors to District Two schools and events. A copy of the School District Two COVID-19 Plan can be viewed here.
