Johnson County Passes $44.2 Million Budget for 2021-22

Johnson County’s Commissioners approved their budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year during their regular meeting Monday.
Resolution No. 666 for appropriations, showed a subtotal operating budget of $11.6 million; with $27.5 million in reserves, $4.1 million in perpetual funds, and $300,000 for the fair budget, $380,800 for the library, and $168,500 for the museum budget for a total general county requirement of just over $44.2 million.
The county also oversees $3.1 million in grants to various organizations and departments.
The commissioners also set their mill levy at 12 mills, to raise just under $3 million in revenue.
