Sheridan Woman Changes Plea on Drug Charges
A change of plea hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 40-year-old Heather Mullinix. In December of 2020, Mullinix was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver- LSD; Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance- LSD; Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance- Amphetamine, and Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana.
Pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Mullinix, at Thursday’s hearing, pleaded guilty to the LSD and marijuana possession charges. The State is recommending a sentence of 2 ½ to 4 years for the felony LSD charge, suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation, and 60 days in jail for the misdemeanor marijuana charge, also suspended in lieu of one-year of supervised probation, and to run concurrent to the sentence for the felony. The State is also recommending in exchange for the guilty pleas, the other two charges be dismissed. District Court Judge Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and set the date for sentencing for July 27 at 10:15.
Mullinix’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court with the added condition that she immediately report to Probation and Parole to notify them of her guilty pleas and to begin the presentence investigation process.
