Buffalo Council Accepts Grant from Prevention Council

The Buffalo City Council has voted to accept grant funding from the Johnson County Prevention Council for the Buffalo Police Department for DUI Patrols, party patrols and compliance checks during the upcoming holiday season.

Bill Hawley, Community Prevention Specialist with the JCPC, talked about the partnership the organization has with the BPD.

Police Chief Jason Carder gave a breakdown of the funding for his department, which are Federal pass-through dollars from the Wyoming Department of Health.

The amount of the funding is $6,500 for overtime pay for party patrols by law enforcement; $2,000 for alcohol compliance checks; $4,080 for DUI enforcement; and $4,000 for tobacco compliance checks.
